Energy production and energy supply

Climate change will have many direct impacts on the energy sector. As extreme weather events become more common, climate change may weaken the production reliability of energy for its part, while increasing the likelihood of disturbances occurring in power distribution. On the other hand, it will create new possibilities for the energy industry to produce and transfer energy in a self-sufficient manner based on renewable energy sources. In addition, since the energy sector is the most important source of greenhouse gas emissions, the energy industry will be subject to indirect impacts from the actions aimed at controlling climate change.
