Atmospheric carbon dioxide at Pallas
Rising carbon dioxide concentration and seasonal variation are visible in the measurements made in Pallas, Finland. The concentration has been rising since the measuring began. It reaches the highest level in winter and decreases during the growing season.

The Finnish Meteorological Institute maintains a long-term measurement station on the top of the Sammaltunturi fell in the Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park. Measurements of carbon dioxide and methane concentrations are part of the global programme (Global Atmosphere Watch, GAW) which consistently monitors the greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere.
